Two Film Posters from Thailand

August 14, 2011

An interesting find in the Thai Film Archive: two posters of films that star Dy Saveth. Are these films from Cambodia, or were these Thai productions in which she starred?

As I do not read Thai, I cannot identify the films. Any clue would be appreciated…

(Dy Saveth must have been really popular in Thailand around 1970, I found a number of pictures of her in Thai film magazines, more on that later…)

Both were a collaboration between the two countries. The second one, in particular, was very popular in both nations. Its Khmer title is ស្នេហ៍ឆ្លងវេហា. This is one of the official soundtracks:

The first one is a Thai film (1972) “Nam Jai Por Kam” which translates to “A Merchant’s Heart” starring Yordchai Duangchewan & Dy Saveth. The second one is Thea Limkoun’s Jeevuht Psong Preng (Ruk Karm Korb Fa) starring Dy Saveth, Chea Yuthorn, Aranya Namwong & Sombath Methanee.
