Kon. The Cinema of Cambodia

Kon. The Cinema of Cambodia

On Friday, October 15, we are going to launch KON (Khmer for film), a magazine on the cinema of Cambodia, edited by students from the Department of Media and Communication at the Royal University of Phnom Penh. The event will take place at Meta House, Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

The magazine deals both with the glorious past and the somewhat less glorious present of the film industry in Cambodia. It features an All-Star-Cast, including Dy Saveth, Ly Bun Yim, Mao Ayuth, Yvon Hem, Tea Lim Kun, Svay Socheata, Poan Phoung Bopha, Min Sitha, Chea Vannarith, Rithy Pan, and His Majesty King Father Norodom Sihanouk.

We will take you on a tour of the history of Khmer cinema and screen clips from classic Khmer movies as well as rare outtakes and other hard-to-find material. Prepare for surprises and special guests.
