“Imaging Asia”: Netpac conference in New Delhi

No conference would be complete without a group picture

Again, I am travelling, so I cannot write much about this Cinematoscope-format conference that was put together by the Network for the promotion of Asian Cinema (Netpac) in locations all over New Delhi. Netpac did so much for the promotion of Asian Cinema in the 20 zears of its existence, starting at a time, when it was still  an arcane part of world cinema, including publishing such ground-breaking books like “Being and Becoming”. I am proud that I had the opportunity to become a member of Netpac and to meet so many people from the old guard of Asian film criticism that I knew previously only from their publications. Thanks to everybody who made this great conference possible, and especially to Raman, who found me a laundry, when it was dearly needed!

Here are some pictures:

Netpac-Board Kim Dong-ho (Pusan Film Festival), Ashley Ratnavibhushana (Asian Film Center, Colombo), Aruna Vasudev (Founder and Grande Dame of Netpac), Wong Tuck Cheong (Help University Kuala Lumpur) and Jeannette Paulson Hereniko (asiapacificfilms.com)
